Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort Dive Safaris
Our Dive teamExotic, also the first dive shop on Malapascua, is once again the pioneer explorer of new dive areas from northern Samar to Southern Leyte. During the last 6 years of exploring these pristine dive area's, Exotic has built up a great knowledge and is at this moment the only real local expert in this fascinating new dive area. A dive safari with Exotic means something new. Real adventure and exploring, we don't go from one resort to another in already well known places. Exotic can offer you an exclusive "real safari". The areas we visit are mostly remote and pristine. There are no resorts or restaurants so we normally sleep and eat on board in sheltered and protected bays. We sleep on deck using air mattresses, or in tents on a white sandy beaches , also always a good opportunity for a nice beach barbeque. These real dive adventures will be backed up by the comfort and safety of modern technology coupled with local knowledge and expertise. The boatThe newly built "Exotic 3" is the flagship off the exotic fleet. It is a 24 meter long spacious traditional Filipino outrigger boat specifically designed and built for these kind of safari's. It's one off the biggest and fastest outrigger dive boats in the Visayas; comfortable and stable in the open seas.
Safari DivingWhile diving, you will see an incredible variety of reef and fish species. Spectacular drop offs and beautiful shallow scenic reefs. The reefs are mostly in pristine condition. Especially on our exclusive north safari you will see "some off the healthiest reefs in the Philippines", with superb hard and soft corals. It looks totally untouched by man and visibility is usually over 20 meters.

For the night we have Dinner on the boat/beach and sleep in a protected bay. Day 3 Another 3 dives on these untouched secret reefs, superb hard corals, giant gorgonian fans and barrel sponges surrounded by a very diverse reef fish population. By doing only limited and responsible diving in this area, we also try to do our part in helping to protect this unique but fragile ecosystem. Last night of the safari we stay overnight just in front of a beautiful desert island. Day 4 Last 3 dives around volcanic island of Marapipi. On these dives we might also encounter some black or white tip sharks. On our way back to Malapascua we remember our four adventurous dive days whilst watching a spectacular sunset.
