The Island

It has a blindingly white bounty beach which is one of the best in the Philippines. Its a paradise where time stands still, leaving you breathless as soon you step into this "pacific island dream" the exceptional long white beach is stretching out around the south-east coast of the island facing Cebu, Leyte and Biliran with its volcanic landscape. The other side of the island has a more panoramic rocky coastline and is an attractive alternative for the ever popular white beach.

Malapascua also called Logon is located about 8 km. north-east of Cebu mainland and 25 km. west of Leyte.

The welcome smile of the children of Malapascua Island.

The turquoise-blue crystal clear waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Everyday seems to be a holiday on Malapascua, its a place far away from mass tourism and the rush of daily life. Get away from it all, all you need to do is relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the island.

The island interior is noticeably green, it has a network of little paths and tracks who will take you to sleepy little fishing towns, idyllic deserted bays, densely overgrown rock formations and green coconut tree forest.

The hike to the lighthouse is "a must" , because of its spectacular view over the island and the Visayan sea. A walk around the island will take about 2 hours and is a perfect way to meet the friendly local people.

The statement: " This is the way Boracay looks ten years ago" is often heard and a bigger compliment for Malapascua island is hardly possible.
