Our resort staffs are all local to the provinces surrounding Cebu and many of them have been working with us since the beginning. We pride ourselves on our professional service as well as our family atmosphere. At Exotic we aim to create the best working environment for our staff and encourage them to further their careers at every opportunity through both local and government operated work seminars and programs.

Our boat crews, all of whom are certified divers, are locals of Malapascua Island. All come from fishing families who have been working the waters of North Cebu for generations; therefore we can confidently say you are in the best hands possible as the locals know these waters the best.

EXOTIC 1
Newly appointed Captain Sanny and his crew Melchor an open water diver and John who is new to our team.

EXOTIC 2
Captain Allan an open water diver with his crew Bryan and Jovanie who are both new to our team.

EXOTIC 3
Captain Ervin a divemaster with his crew Jeffrey an advanced diver and Boy an open water diver.

EXOTIC 4
Captain Jerry an advanced diver with his crew Randy also an advanced diver and JR who is new to our team.

EXOTIC 5
Captain Roel and his crew Jomar who is new to our team.

EXOTIC 6
Captain Edgar, our senior captain and one of the most respected on the island. Edgar is also in charge of the entire Exotic Fleet.

Flat boats
Rudy and Nante are both new members of our team and are the captains responsible for all our flat boats.

Secretaries
Hilda who is a rescue diver and Cathy a very experienced discover scuba diver and Cheng a divemaster trainee are our hard working and always smiling dive shop ladies.

.: PADI DIVE GUIDES

Our PADI dive guides are again all locals who have been diving with exotic for many years. Here at Exotic we feel that the locals know it best.

Tong

PADI assistant instructor (soon to be instructor) has been with Exotic since the beginning, nearly 8 years. He was the first local to dive with the thresher sharks and is a well-respected divemaster on the island.

Paul

PADI assistant instructor has been with Exotic for 7 years. He started off filling tanks and doing maintenance repair and worked his way up to AI level; a well liked member of our team

Toto

PADI assistant instructor has been with Exotic for 6 years. Already an accomplished divemaster when he joined our team, he has proven to be an excellent guide. He is aiming for his instructor rating soon.

Rey

PADI assistant instructor has been with Exotic for 5 years. He started as boat crew and worked his way up to divemaster within one year. He has been successfully guiding with us for 4 years.

Wilmar

Wil was the boat captain on Exotic 1 for many years whilst also working as a backup divemaster. Earlier this year he finally decided to hang up his captain hat and become a full time DM. We are very happy to have him on our team.

Ronel

Ronel has been working as a boat crew for many years. Last year he decided to take the leap and signed up for his PADI open water course, he has now successfully completed his divemaster course and we are very happy to have him on our team.

Balt

Our newest divemaster is Balt, who is still in training and is due to be signed off by the end of April. He has been working with us for a few years as boat crew on Exotic 2, but has willingly made the switch and is an excellent asset to the divemaster team. We are looking forward to his final snorkel test.

Our instructors/dive shop managers Tim and Zoe Latimer, first came to Malapascua in 2004 and fell in love with the island. They promised to return and did so in December 2006, with their then 2-month-old daughter Solymar. Tim is a PADI Master Instructor and has been a PADI professional for nearly 10 years. Zoe is a PADI Staff Instructor and has been a PADI professional for 6 years. Both have traveled extensively and have dived all over the world.
